Country singer Collin Raye to hit local stage
Not all of the musical entertainment at Harvest of the Arts on Saturday will take place in the open air.
Multiple-platinum country music recording artist Collin Raye will take the stage at the Carlisle Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are still available either at the box office or online at www.carlisletheatre.org. Prices are $10 for students with valid IDs, $25, $30, or $35.
Collin Heads To The State Theatre
Although it was 30 years ago, Collin Raye remembers the day he first heard one of his songs on the radio.
“We had a little single we financed ourselves,” said the country singer. “It was ‘Everybody Wants to be a Cowboy.’ It was a spoof of the urban cowboy thing going on at that time. Local stations loved it and started playing it all the time. We were a long way from the national and international success we've had. It was still pretty cool.”
